Unbound

I called upon the Lord
And I was heard.
His name I cried
And His answer arrived.
Resting in Him striving ended.
Prefect peace He imparted.
From the storm He rescued me.
He pulled me from the churning sea.
My binding burdens He has taken
In His arms I am not shaken.
My strength in Him found

I am sustained, unbound.

You are Loved

Please, show me the way.
Peace, rest in My stay.

Tell me the next move.
Wait, you’ve nothing to prove.

People talk, say it’s not enough.
My words and ways, are not their stuff.

Trusting is hard.
Let down your guard.

Character building hurts.
I’m carrying you through the deserts.

It would be easier to do something.
Wait on Me, watch what I’ll bring.

I need my own dreams.
Drink from My living streams.

Give me a vision.
For you here’s My provision.

Don’t leave me hanging.
The door is open there’s no banging.

Show me You love me.
Dear one, open your eyes, see.

I’m resting here.
Child, I am near.

I’m waiting on You.
That’s all I ask you to do.

All that matters is what You think.
Others will not cause you to sink.

I desire to trust You more.
My grace upon you I pour.

Bring me through this rough season.
My child, for everything there is a reason.

I accept whatever You have in store.
And I long to give you even more.

I’m drinking life from You.
My dreams I give you too.

Fill me more with Your zeal.
You are marked with My seal.

I am held in Your hand.
In My courts you shall stand.

I know all this is from above.

Know, you are loved, by My Great Love!

A Very Important Person in Your Life

“Hello small child,
Welcome to the world.
There’s something you should know,
I am your Grandfather,
And I am a very important person in your life.”

You’ve said this all my life.
I, of course, take some credit,
Being the first born grandchild,
Maybe I inspired the phrase,
“A very important person in your life.”

I watched you say the same thing
To all my siblings and cousins,
Each when first you held them,
Told them you loved them,
Prayed over them, blessing their life.

You’ve reminded us all of this fact,
That you are our Grandfather,
A very important person in our life,
And we’ve smiled at you and laughed too,
Though we knew you were mostly serious.

But as I’ve hear you remind me and
Watched you tell your other grandchildren
That you are an important person in our life,
I’ve seen you walk out what that means,
To be our Grandfather and be important.

Maybe it was meant to be a funny phrase,
But it’s true, because you are
An important person in my life.
You’ve lived a lot more life than I have
And know lessons of great value.

You pray for me too, for all of us,
I know and I treasure that knowledge.
You care for us and lift us up
To our Father in Heaven,
Blessing us and interceding for us.

You’ve set an example before us
Of a godly man, a leader for his family,
One who follows Christ and makes a way.
So that the rest of us may follow in our own walks
With the Father who blessed us with you.

You are our Grandfather.
An important person in our lives.
You love us and we love you.
Thank you for being important,

For being the man God called you to be.

That all of You.

That all of you God made.
That all of you God loves.
That all of you glorifies Him.
That all of you is for His purpose.

Don’t be afraid to be what He made.
Don’t be afraid to be what He loves.
Don’t be afraid to be what glorifies the King.
Don’t be afraid to be what He has a purpose for.

You are what He made you to be.
You are what He loves as you are.
You are what glorifies your Creator.
You are what you are for His purpose.

Only His opinion matters.
Be what He called you to.
Don’t worry about others.
Step boldly out for Him.

As you are, that all of  you.

God's Hands

I rest in God's hands
Nothing transpires outside His plans
And that for my good
In living life I should
Bring to Him all glory and praise
Enduring throughout all days

The Son’s Rays

When clouds block the sun
Darkness fills the sky
The sun can not be seen
But the sun yet is high

When troubled seas toss you
And you fear He’s not here
Although He may not be felt
The Son is still there

Fear not when shadows
And silence fill your days
Though the Master vanishes during the test
Not long will be hidden His comforting rays

What is a Hero?

What is a hero?
One Hundred to zero,
Age does not matter.

Is a hero something great?
Sometimes it’s the hands of fate
That brings one to light.

Does a hero have to be brave?
Courage, at times to save,
Is rather fear channeled.

Will a hero be very strong?
For a time not long
Will strength matter.

A hero is not something
Made up of one thing
Or things too many to count.

A hero does not seem
Always to be deemed
Worth of praise.

Some heroes are never seen
For who they are, but only the scene
They made in their moment of greatness.

A hero can be small,
Lacking the titles “handsome” and “tall,”
But gaining instead that of “Grace.”

A hero can be the child
Who, meek and mild,
Shares his cookie with another.

A hero can be the father
Who never views as a bother
The dirt dish water reaching his elbows.

A hero can be the one
Who had no choice in what was begun
And can only find courage to finish.

A hero is the one who used
Fear and refused
To fall defeated.

A hero is the person next to you
That never gave in who
Pushed though the day.

A hero is anyone that
Chooses not to fall flat
In the face of challenges.

A hero is one who rises
And embraces surprises
And lives to give others joy

A hero lives to give others joy.
